·        Get clarity of the guidelines for word count, for practice-based PhD thesis. Practice/Thesis is approximately 70/30% split. Word count likely to be between 35- 40,000 (rather than the 80,000 that I thought!)

·         Meet with supervisors to discuss the thesis structure; to establish what to write about

·         Decide on what the 'virtual package' (of both the VR experience and the thesis) will be.                        And create a name for it. This will help shape content to be included in the written work

·         Research and discuss possible external examiners.

·         Distil the written text, so that I am on the same page as the examiner

·         Bibliography can also reveal the wider context, practice and literature reviews that I have looked at

·         Transcripts to be appendices

·         Consider the wider readership and write for them

·         State in the text what the package is not. Set out my stall and be focused

·         An afterword can be included too. To state e.g The ambition was to X,Y,Z (public engagement) but change of focus required due to pandemic.

·         Consider what I want to be doing in two years time, this can also be included in future work.
